Happy Mother’s Day!

May 12th, 2013

May flowers are in bloom and it’s just in time for Mother’s Day! While this weekend’s weather has not been as nice as the past, there are still plenty of family activities you can do to celebrate Mom! You can go to a brunch, surprise her with a spa treatment or even plan a shopping day down at the outlets. Don’t forget you can always get her a Lake George RV Park gift card! There are plenty of options here at the park as well, from a long bike ride to enjoying an ice cream cone down at the café! Remember it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you’re spending it with the ones who matter most! From all our staff here at the Lake George RV Park we wish all the moms out there a very Happy Mother’s Day!

47th Season Opening Week

May 10th, 2013

Photo: It's opening day here at the park! Safe travels to all those who are arriving today!

We officially opened for our 47th season on Friday May 3rd, and what a wonderful week it has been. The skies were clear and the temperatures perfect! Everyone was in great spirits as our springs weekenders and other guests came rolling in. With the smell of fresh pine in the air, mixed with campfires and the roasting of marshmallows how can a smile not cross your face?  It is wonderful to see the grounds fill up with RVs and people again! Along with our park opening up many of the area’s attractions have slowly begun to open their doors as well. While the majority of the area officially will not be open until Memorial Day, which is quickly approaching, it is wonderful to see the region awaken after a long winter. As we progress into this season our staff looks forward to greeting all our returning guests and meeting all of our new comers, happy travels and we hope to see everyone soon!

2013 Ethics In Business Award

May 2nd, 2013

Photo: We are excited to share that on Saturday April 27th 2013 the Lake George RV Park was awarded with the 2nd Annual Ethics In Business Award in the Large Business Division. This award was sponsored by the Adirondack Samaritan Counsel Center and was presented to businesses exemplifying ethical practices professionally as well as throughout their communities.

Here at the Lake George RV Park we pride ourselves for working hard and giving back to the community. We are honored and humbled to announce that on Saturday April 27th 2013 we were presented with the Ethics In Business Award for the Glens Falls Region in the Large Business Division. This is the 2nd annual Ethics In Business Award banquet presented by the Adirondack Samaritan Counseling Center. It is presented to businesses who demonstrate exceptional ethical behavior in their business practices. The process for determining the recipients for the award is a yearlong process. Each business is nominated by a community member throughout the spring and summer seasons. Once the nominations are in, students from SUNY Adirondack College assess the nominees and conduct interviews of the local business professionals. The Lake George RV Park was in great company with the other two local business winners; in the small business division Ray of Light Fitness and the medium business division Rock Hill Bakehouse & Café. It is wonderful timing to receive the award going into our 47th season. We are privileged to be recognized for such an important characteristic of business and look forward to continuing this practice for years to come!

Don’t Forget Our Environment

April 23rd, 2013

Lake George is one of the main tourist destinations located in the Adirondacks. And it’s not just the cute shops that line the streets or the romantic dining options to choose from at sunset that draws people here, the lake itself is a main attraction. It’s important to remember all the generations that have experienced the beauty of this body of water and it’s essential to consider all the future generations that will want to experience the opportunity as well. Many travel to the lake each year to boat and fish but it’s important to remember that we need to keep the lake clean in order to preserve its splendor. This year we want to bring awareness to aquatic hitchhikers and their possible negative impact on Lake George as well as any other lake. To help prevent invasive species from contaminating Lake George please remember these simple steps: clean, drain and dry! Invasive species can include but are not limited to water chestnuts, zebra/quagga mussels, Eurasian watermilfoil, spiny waterflea, hydrilla, live bait and Asian clams. Remember as the camping season is quickly approaching to take in the natural beauty around you but also respect and help preserve it for everyone! Everything is Coming Together…

April 16th, 2013

Our comprehensive Summer Vacation Guide recently underwent its final revision by our team. With Summer 2013 quickly approaching this is one of the finishing touches that we prepare for our guests.  For those who have not stayed with us before, the vacation guide is a full color informational guide that includes valuable information about our park and the area. Within the pages you can find different ads and coupons for eateries, gift shops and attractions. You can also find specific details about our park operations including but not limited to opening and closing times of the pools, trolley schedules and so much more. Perhaps one of the most beneficial aspects of the guide is a full page map of our park. These guides are provided to you when you register at the front desk at check-in.

Springing Towards our 47th Season

April 10th, 2013

With animals scampering around and buds beginning to bloom we know that spring has arrived and that means opening day is right around the corner. Within the past week alone we have seen temperatures begin to creep into the higher 50’s and lower 60’s with snow melting everywhere. Who doesn’t love to see the first blades of grass? Within the past week our maintenance workers have been reporting to work. You can see them scattered throughout the park ensuring that by opening day the park will be tidy and clean for all our guests. We also received our first shipment of store items this week. Be sure to look around the store this year as we are going to be stocking the shelves with plenty of new items for our guests. We are all very excited that the season is quickly approaching and can’t wait to see all of our guests again. We will continue to work together to ensure that everything is nothing less than perfect for the commencement of our 47th season! See you all soon.

LAKE GEORGE RV PARK NAMED AS ONE OF NINE CAMPGROUNDS, RV PARKS AND RESORTS IN THE NATION TO EARN AN ALL AROUND “A” GRADE FOR FIVE CONSECUTIVE YEARS IN THE FIFTH ANNUAL GUESTRATED™ SATISFACTION SURVEY OF INDEPENDENT, PRIVATELY-OWNED PARKS.

March 7th, 2013

2012-guest-rated-logoThe top-rated parks were announced at the Rio All Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas during a Nov. 30th awards ceremony hosted by the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.
More than 30,000 camping and RV enthusiasts completed reviews in the GuestRated.com online survey, grading their experiences at 3,200 independent RV parks and campgrounds.
“Consistently earning an overall „A‟ grade from guests is difficult, and our 42 winners this year represent less than 2% of all of the nation‟s campgrounds. But what is even more impressive is that nine of this year‟s winners have also received this award for five years in a row,” said Bob MacKinnon, President and CEO of GuestRated.com, the Murrieta, Calif.-based company that conducted the online survey on behalf of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.
“Being recognized by our guests in this way is an honor that we are proud to have achieved again this year,” said Dave King, owner of Lake George RV Park. “Their feedback and satisfaction is what has made our facility the best family camping resort in Lake George and the Adirondacks.” Lake George RV Park offers extensive amenities, including swimming pools, tennis courts, bike trails trolley shuttle service and professional entertainment at the French Mountain Playhouse.
MacKinnon suggests that campers visit the “Best Rated Parks” page at www.guestrated.com to see where each award-winning park is located and view their individual web pages.
Camping enthusiasts are also encouraged to submit their own reviews of the campgrounds and RV resorts they have recently visited by going to http://www.guestrated.comand clicking on the “Rate a Park” tab. Each park receiving reviews displays a GuestRated™ Report Card showing the current year‟s ratings based upon online feedback from their campers.
