Every year at the end of our season we ask our guests to fill out a survey. This survey has questions regarding every aspect of our park and their stay. From the moment they check-in until the moment they check-out. We want to know how their interaction with the staff was, if they enjoyed all the amenities, how their site was and most importantly their overall views and comments. In the middle of November we draw 1 name from all the completed surveys. The winner is awarded with a 7 night complimentary stay for our next season for up to four people! This year our winner was Robert P. from Maryland. If you missed out on the survey this year don’t worry, keep checking back on our website and Facebook page to see if we run any other contests or giveaways!

Thanksgiving is upon us. Kids are counting down the days for the Thanksgiving break, parents are scurrying around to the grocery store, creating menus and getting head counts for dinner, thousands are finalizing their travel plans whether it’s by car or plane, a winter storm is always thrown into the mix and of course there are those who are counting the minutes until consumer stores re-open for what is known as the biggest shopping day of the year. Added on after most of the chaos has subsided and the holiday shopping season is in full swing, a new holiday that is attributed to the growth in technology and the online shopping world, cyber Monday. This ‘holiday’ is often considered the equivalent to black Friday in terms of deals. At this moment you might be thinking what is the importance of cyber Monday? Well you don’t want to miss out on our cyber Monday offer! On Monday December 2nd we will be offering a 10% bonus on online gift card purchases. This means any gift card purchase made on Monday December 2nd will receive a 10% bonus on top of the purchase price of the original order. For example if you purchase a $100.00 gift card we will send you an activated gift card for $110.00, the extra $10.00 is your bonus amount. Be sure to mark your calendars as you won’t want to miss out on this event! This could be a great gift for someone else but it can also be a great way to save money for your future reservations here at our park! Again please note that this offer is only available on December 2nd, and any gift cards purchased are non-refundable. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Who says that there isn’t anything fun or exciting to do in Lake George once summer is over? It seems that especially with the holidays approaching that the area stays just as full of activities as it does in the summer. For instance this Saturday November 16th at 9am in Lake George at Shepard’s Park Beach the 7th annual Lake George Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics will take place! People from all over the state of New York gather for a common interest, plunging into the cold waters of Lake George in order to raise money for the Special Olympics. Don’t worry, if you don’t think basking in the water of Lake George is your thing during mid-November you can still go down to watch others jump right in. It’s free admission for spectators. Keep your eyes open for other upcoming fun events during this winter season! It’s never too late to try something new!

During November we think about a few different things, primarily turkey and preparing for the upcoming holiday season. However there is another important date that falls between Halloween and Thanksgiving, Veteran’s Day. Veteran’s Day always falls on November 11th. The reason that it always falls on this day was originally to mark the end date of World War I. The War officially ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in the year 1918, which was November 11th. Many tend to confuse Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day as well. Memorial Day honors men and women who passed while serving our country. Veteran’s Day celebrates all United States Military Veterans. On Veteran’s Day and every day we would like to thank all those who have served and currently serve our country and their commitment to our great Nation!

With candy covering local super market shelves, an abundance of costume stores around and of course just a spooky feeling in the air you know Halloween is right around the corner. During this time it’s not uncommon for places and evenings to feel ‘spookier’ and it’s quite fitting for our park as well. Since we have closed for the season and all of our guests have left the park feels quiet and eerie. However with that being said our maintenance team is working very hard and diligently to get this park ready for winter, which with proof from recent temperatures is not very far away! The leaves are past peak and coming down at a rapid rate and we’ve even had a few nights consisting of frost! However a little cold weather won’t slow us down, construction continues on our new Dog Park which will be opening next year! Our office continues to be open as well as staff continues to take reservations for our upcoming 2014 season! Stay warm campers and have a Safe and Happy Halloween.

Unfortunately the season is almost over; this week is the last full week of the season in which we are open. On the bright side however Columbus Day Weekend is sure to be filled with many fun activities. In addition to our regular movies schedule for Friday, Saturday and Sunday night we will also have two shows in our French Mountain Playhouse. On Saturday night we will have the Tardy Brothers with their high energy juggling and comedy performance, this will begin at 8pm. On Sunday we will have the Prismatic Laser Magic Show, and in honor of Halloween it will have a Halloween Spooktacular theme! As a special bonus we will have the Paddle Boat pond operating from 11am-3pm on Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting). Both trolleys will be operating on both Saturday & Sunday as well. The weather is a bit chilly, but this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t bring your swimsuits. Even though both our outdoor pools are closed, our indoor pool will be open all weekend long. And don’t forget to stop by the Camper Café for your last snack or ice cream cone of the season. While we are sad to see the season coming to an end, we are excited to have one last fun filled weekend. And don’t forget while you are here to stop by the office during some of your free time and make your reservations for 2014!
October 1st, 2013
It’s that time again, October 1st is finally here! For those who don’t know what the significance of October 1st is, this is the first day you can make reservations for the 2014 season! And with a new season we have plenty of new enhancements for our guests. As many of you might have saw this past summer, there was a rather large clearing off of our East West Boulevard as you are heading down towards the East End of our park. This clearing is going to be the home of our new dog park area and pavilion. This centrally located park will be 3 acres large and will provide a place for off leash recreation for your K9’s. We also implemented another significant change; we changed the minimum age for children. Children 12 years and younger will now be free, whereas it used to be ages 5 and under. If you’re familiar with our East Building on the 3rd floor we had the Adult Lounge, we have changed this to Our Adirondack Family Lodge. Children may now join their parents in this space which was previously reserved for adults only. We will be including more board games and puzzles for all ages to enjoy in addition to our previously popular amenities. In response to your requests, we have designated a collection of specific sites which may be used for guests that wish to stay at our park for the entire season. This collection of 17 sites will be part of our seasonal program, be sure to call our office for further details. Finally we would like to announce that we have received the highest rating from the campground inspectors at Good Sam Travel Guide, they were previously known as Woodall’s and TrailerLife. We are extremely proud to be one of only a few campgrounds in the United States to have met the newest rating criteria! As we are sad to see another season end are very excited for the new one that is soon to begin! Happy Fall Campers!

We are lucky to be nestled away in one of the greatest parts of the world. Being located in the Adirondacks surrounded by so much natural beauty and just a few miles away from the infamous Lake George is a spectacular place to be. This weekend in downtown Lake George, at Shephards Park there is going to be a celebration for the Lake. Beginning on Friday September 27th and running through Sunday September 29th you won’t want to miss out on all the fun and festivities occurring down at the lake. During this festival you will have the opportunity to see live music performed by 6 different bands. If you’re into crafts you won’t want to miss out either as there will be multiple artisans displaying their unique craft items. Let the kids have fun at the petting zoo, on a pony ride or on a carnival ride. There will be strolling entertainers and multiple food vendors to choose from as well. For adults try your luck at a casino game or enjoy a craft beer and wine tasting. Saturday night enjoy a fireworks display over the lake. There is a minor $10.00 entrance fee but this is a onetime payment that allows entry for all three days. All the money generated will go to the task force protecting the ecological health of the Lake.
