Airstream WBCCI Rally (16) and Holiday Rambler Chapter 0 and Chapter 100 combined Rally (12)

The first weekend in June was spectacular.  In addition to some very nice weather, the park hosted some special campers that were part of two rallies that visited over this great weekend.

The Airstream WBCCI Rally returned with 16 of those classic silver bullets again this year.  This chapter has chosen the LGRV Park as one of their annual destinations for 37 years!  Led by Geoffrey and Susan Whittle, this group can always be found with smiles on their faces and talking about the goods times they have when visiting Lake George.  This year they paired up with a chapter from the Finger Lakes region, many of which declared this their first LGRVP experience but not their last.  When asked what keeps them coming back year after year, many members exclaimed that the impeccably maintained facilities, great location, and great regional attractions were just some of the reasons they made the annual pilgrimage to our park.  They finished up their weekend with a cocktail party under the shade of Adirondack pines followed by an Oscar’s Smoked Ham dinner.

During the same weekend, our general manager, Gary, met with the Holiday Rambler Group while they were gathered for a meal in one of our pavilions.  Gary was giving a brief synopsis of how and where the park was born many years ago in Hershey, Pa.  One of the Rambler guests raised her hand and said that her parents had attended the same rally in Hershey, Pa. and that they heard first hand from Vic King about the park he was going to build in Lake George.  Several of that group thought they were hearing about some fantasy as Vic described his “dream”.  However, the following Spring the park opened with about 200 hundred sites and the rest is history.  “Helen” whose family were from Mechanicsville, said that her father had been to LGRVP only three years ago and had a wonderful visit with Vic about the good old days.    Helen mentioned that her brother had taken Vic’s oldest daughter to her Junior Prom in Niskayuna.  Tom and Paulette are both in their 60’s now but the memories of good friends having good times lives on.

The King family and their dedicated staff love to hear stories about our guests experiences at the park.  Our hats go off to the Airstream and Holiday Rambler groups for their enduring relationship with the Lake George RV Park.  When all is said and done it is the relationships that we develop when we are out camping that make some of the finest memories.
