Apple Picking

Looking for a fun family activity to do while visiting our park? Why not go apple picking? It’s a great way to experience the outdoors and take home some delicious apples! Continue to read below for a few different apple picking options in the area.

  1. McWhorter’s Orchard – The locals enjoy the orchard, the thrill of picking their own apples, and the treat of apple cider donuts afterwards. You can take home a gallon of cider, there are pre-picked apples in the apple barn, and they have pumpkins available in the apple barn, too!  They also have a few goats you can feed treats to and watch them climb on their bridge system.
  2. Hick’s Orchard – Hick’s Orchard is the oldest U-Pick orchard in New York, and one trip there shows why they have been in business for so long! They have an apple barn that is open year round!  There is always something to pick at Hick’s!  Not only do they serve fresh, hot apple cider donuts and fresh milled cider, they have a winery and an apiary, too!  Stop by for apples and leave with fresh honey and apple wine!  There is something for everyone at Hick’s.
