It’s fall in the Adirondacks, and that means apple orchards will be open again! There are plenty of options for you and your family to go apple picking while visiting the Lake George RV Park.
McWhorter’s Orchard in Argyle, NY is a quaint orchard that has been family owned and operated for over 25 years. They have tractor rides into the orchard that are complimentary. Their apple barn has fresh pre-picked apples available, fresh cider, and fresh cider donuts. They do not accept credit cards, so plan to bring cash with you.
Apple Hill Orchard in Whitehall, NY is another small orchard that is family owned and operated. They have a good selection of local favorites as you pick or as pre-picked. They only have apples, no cider or cider donuts. They also have pumpkins as the season progresses.
Saratoga Apple in Schuylerville, NY has been family owned and operated for five generations. They have a large selection of apples that you can pick on your own, or pre-picked in their apple barn. They also have plums, cherries, raspberries and black currants for a fruit selection. They have asparagus, pumpkins, zucchini, tomatoes, garlic, and potatoes for their vegetable selections. They also have fresh baked goods and cider in their farm store.
Hick’s Orchard in Granville, NY is the longest running apple orchard in our area. They have been in business since 1905. They offer much more than just apples. They have their own apiary or “bee-cosystem” as referred to on-line, which provides the fresh honey for sale in the apple barn. They have a bouncy barnyard, corn maze, and barnyard animals for the kids! They have their own line of apple wine and hard apple cider for sale in Slyboro Ciderhouse. On crisp fall days, the apple wood fired pizza offered on site is a perfect lunch after apple picking. Don’t forget their famous cider donuts and fresh apple cider that is also for sale in the apple barn!
