This weekend is the 46th annual Adirondack Balloon Festival. The majority of the events are held at the Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport in Queensbury, which is located, a short 15 minute drive from the park. On Friday there will be an evening flight, weather permitting, around 5pm. There are plenty of craft and food vendors as well as live music to keep you busy while you wait for the balloons to launch. Saturday the events begin early with a Big Balloon Breakfast at 5am. The morning launch for the balloons is truly breathtaking as up to 100 balloons launch with the sunrise between 6:30am and 7:30am. Similar to Friday, there is an evening flight, but all the balloons are back in time for Moonglow where the balloons light up the night.
