Happy August 2022

And just like that campers it’s already August 1st. Time sure does fly by when you’re having fun! While we don’t want to wish the summer away, it’s never too early to start planning for fall. Make your fall camping reservations soon as dates are booking up quickly.

The beauty of the Adirondacks is even more prevalent during the fall season and this beauty comes with events and other seasonal activities. One popular activity that locals and tourists alike in enjoy during autumn is apple picking. There are several local apple orchards that you can visit to pick your own apples that can be made into pies, apple sauce, apple butter or just eaten on their own as a snack.  Two local orchards are McWhorter’s Orchard and Hicks Orchard.

Every October Lake George Village is transformed for an exciting 3-day celebration of autumn and the beauty that it brings. Based on the German festival of the same name, Oktoberfest in Lake George pays homage to German culture through foods like bratwurst and a Bier Garden with local handcrafted German-inspired ales and lagers from Lake George’s own Adirondack Brewery.  This year’s Oktoberfest begins on October 7th.

Autumn is a stunning time to visit the Adirondacks and we strongly encourage you to come and experience it for yourself.
