St. Patrick’s Day is a yearly holiday celebrated on March 17th. It is named after St. Patrick, the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland. It started as a purely Catholic holiday and eventually became an official feast day in the early 1600’s. However, through time it has become more of a celebration of Irish culture.
