Helping Wildlife

Here at the Lake George RV Park wildlife is everywhere. Whether it be chipmunks, flowers, dragon flies or blue herons, being in the woods means you see all different aspects of nature. A few weeks ago a wild owl was brought into the office and unfortunately the owl was injured. We immediately called our friends over at North Country Wild Care, who responded instantaneously. Their staff member picked up the owl, who our staff named Darius. They said that they would nurse Darius back to health and re-release him in the park when he was fully recovered. We are happy to report that day was Tuesday July 12th. Darius, who, as it turned out ended up having a vision problem was properly cared for and returned to great health. He was released Tuesday morning outside our Bingo Pavilion. It gives us great pride to help aid in this owl’s recovery and we want to remind guests and campers everywhere that it’s important to care for wildlife. Next time you’re in the park be sure to keep your eyes to the sky to see if you see our beautiful owl Darius.
