Total Solar Eclipse

There will be a major space phenomenon occurring on Monday August 21st, 2017. A total solar eclipse will be visible over portions of the United States. A total solar eclipse is when the surface of the moon completely blocks out the sun in the sky, leaving a glowing ring around the moon. This cosmic event only occurs about once every 2 years, although the best viewings tend to differ each time.   It’s important to remember that even though the solar eclipse will be visible, you should never look directly at it without proper eye protection. Unfortunately, our region is not in the best viewing area for the solar eclipse, but we are excited for such a rare event to occur in totality over the United States.
