1. What is the significance of your 10/10*/10 rating from the campground inspectors at Good Sam Travel Guide (Previously Woodall’s and TrailerLife)?
We are proud to be one of the few campgrounds in the United States to have met the newest rating criteria. Recently Ann Emerson Vice President and Publisher at Good Sam RV Travel Guide provided the following statement, “Lake George RV Park is one of just 101 campgrounds to achieve our highest and most coveted rating in the 2014 Good Sam RV Travel Guide and Campground Directory. Achieving our 10/10*/10 rating requires hard work, investment and attention to detail. We know that these ratings are not easy to attain and applaud Lake George’s efforts for achieving our highest rating. And we appreciate all that they do to provide exceptional quality and a first-rate experience to the camping public.”
The purpose of these rating systems is comparable to that of a star or diamond rating scale for hotels and restaurants. It provides guidance for the consumer to help in their decision process in choosing a RV park that is a good fit for them.
2. How far in advance should I make a reservation for an RV site?
We recommend making a reservation at least 8 weeks prior to your arrival date (16 weeks for holiday weekends: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Americade Week, and Columbus Day). However, we encourage campers to check availability with the Lake George RV Park even if your lead time is less than this. We begin taking phone, mail, and Internet reservations for the following calendar year beginning on October 1st.
3. Will my reservation request guarantee a specific RV campsite?
A confirmed campsite reservation ($100.00 to $285.00 deposit required, depending on date or reservation) guarantees an RV campsite for the dates specified at the time your reservation is made, but not for a specific campsite. We do encourage early reservations and requests for specific campsites, campsite areas, our Wilderness Lodging, or locations related to amenity preferences. We assign our campsites just prior to arrival, based on your requests and the date that your request and deposit was received.
4. Why don’t you confirm specific campsites?
It is our goal to provide you with an RV campsite that meets your expectations. Due to the volume of reservations received and the frequent changes in reservation status that occur at our Lake George resort after a reservation is made, this policy enables us to meet a higher rate of satisfaction with our guests than if specific RV campsites were guaranteed in advance.
For example, if a reservation was confirmed for a specific campsite in January, and subsequently canceled 2 days prior to the scheduled date of arrival, it would be impossible for us to provide that campsite to a guest that has already been told it was not available in January. Under our policy, an RV campsite is assigned just prior to your date of arrival; this assures that your first requests are always considered. At that time, if we are unable to meet your first request we attempt to honor a second or third request you may have. Overall, this policy assures a higher level of satisfaction for the majority of our guests.
5. Do you allow tent camping?
6. What do you consider an RV?
Our definition of an RV (Recreational Vehicle) is a camping unit designed for road travel that is equipped with factory installed beds and at least two land-to-vehicle service connections (electric, water, or sewer) with electric being one of the two. For example, a travel trailer, fifth wheel, RV motor home, motor coach, custom private bus, folding camper/pop-up, truck (pickup) camper and camper van are considered to be an RV.
A mini-van is not considered a camper van unless it meets the above criteria. In addition, we do not allow boats with cabins and hookups, to be used as RVs. If you do not have an RV as listed above, consider staying in one of our Wilderness Lodging vacation rentals, a smart alternative to Lake George hotels.
7. I have a large family. How many people can you have on one of your RV campsites?
In fairness to all of our Lake George guests, we limit the number of people on each site to a maximum of 8. This number includes your original party and any visitors you may have.
8. Where does your complimentary trolley shuttle stop and how often?
Currently, our trolley shuttle operates daily during the Lake George RV Park’s summer season and on Saturdays Only in the Spring and Fall (including Sundays on Memorial Day and Columbus Day weekends).
Our trolley makes its rounds to all of our 12 In-Park stops, each conveniently located near campsite and recreation areas. In addition, we make one Out-of-Park stop at the nearby outlet shopping centers. This trolley stop is conveniently located in the center of over 100 outlet stores and restaurants in Lake George. From the outlet center, you may connect with a municipal trolley that shuttles to other area attractions such as The Great Escape Amusement Park, Lake George Village and the City of Glens Falls for a nominal fee.
The Lake George RV Park trolley makes trips around the Park and to the Outlet Center every 20-30 minutes during the day and evening. Exact starting and ending times vary.
9. What is your pet policy?
Pets must be leashed at all times while at our RV resort, cleaned up after and never be left alone at your site, in your RV or any other area of the park. Proof of rabies vaccination should be provided upon request. Pets should be kept quiet and not disturb other guests.
10. Do you have seasonal sites?
Yes, we do offer seasonal sites. Our seasonal sites are priced starting at $4,950 – $7,950. For more information you can take a look at our packages, our call our office at 518-792-3775.
11. Why does your base rate include only 2 people and not 4?
As an all-inclusive resort, our primary goal is to set pricing policies that are fair to all guests that stay with us. Since a family can range in size from 2 people to 8 people, we have set our minimum nightly rate at the smallest family unit. While you may be paying a higher rate for a larger family, the larger a family is, a greater number of resources are expended at the park to serve the needs of these guests. In addition, because our park is all-inclusive, your daily site fee includes access to a generous number of daily services and amenities that do not require any additional fees to use.
Our goal at the LGRVP is to make our rate structure as simple and as fair as possible. Please keep in mind that we offer special value discount rates at specific times during our season: click here for our rates calendar. While limited services and facilities may be offered during these discounted days, families wishing to experience LGRVP at the most affordable rates should consider visiting us at these times.
12. Something has come up… what is your cancellation policy?
We have one of the friendliest cancellation policies in our industry. As with any business, cancellations are unfortunate for the guest as well as the campground, so we have designed our policies to be as fair as possible to both.
For non-holiday RV campsites: Full refunds less a $10 service charge if canceled 48 hours before arrival date. No refunds if canceled less than 48 hours before arrival.
For holiday (including Americade week) RV campsites: Full refunds less a $10 service charge if canceled two weeks before arrival date. No refunds if canceled less than two weeks before arrival.
For our on-site RV rentals: If the cancellation is received at least 30 days before arrival date – full refund less $15; at least 21 days before arrival date – 75% of deposit will be refunded; at least 14 days before arrival date – 50% of deposit will be refunded; less than 14 days before arrival date – no refund.
No exceptions will be made to this cancellation policy. No refunds or credits for early departure.
13. Do you offer any incentives or customer loyalty programs for guests?
As a token of our appreciation to our loyal customers, the LGRV Park offers a special bonus on Cyber Monday to all guests. Online shoppers that place a gift card order on Cyber Monday, receive an additional 10% bonus on top of the purchase price of their order. Simply put, you purchase a $100 gift card online, we will mail you an activated gift card in the amount of $110, you purchase a $200 gift card online, we will mail you a $220 activated gift card, etc.
This offer is available for online gift orders that are received on Cyber Monday ONLY. This special customer-loyalty bonus is a wonderful opportunity for families to get 10% more out of all our RV resort has to offer. Gift cards have no expiration date, and may be used for campsite fees or any retail and cafe purchases at Lake George RV Park. No additional charges are required to issue a gift card.
14. What time can I check in? What time is check out?
Our check-in and check-out times are designed to assure that all of our guests’ expectations are met upon arrival. It takes our staff time to make our family resort in Lake George your home away from home perfect in every way. Therefore, it is very important that all of our guests abide by these times.
Check-in time for all RV campsites is 1 p.m. Should you arrive prior to 1 p.m. your site may not be ready.
Check-out time on the day of your departure is 11 a.m. If you wish to stay and enjoy the facilities after 11 a.m. you may register at the office for extended check-out. You still must vacate your site by 11 a.m. but extended check-out will allow you to park your vehicle in a designated area and utilize facilities until 6 p.m. that day for a nominal flat rate.
